Here's some basic information about our services and fees.
Enrollment Policies and Procedures
This program welcomes families of any race, color, sex, religion, nationality, creed, sexual orientation, marital status, age, or the presence of any sensory, mental or physical disability. The families are not restricted from rights, privileges, programs and activities made available to students at the school. We do not discriminate in any way within the administration of our educational policies, enrollment policies, financial plan or any other school-administered program.
As openings become available, we accept families upon a first-come, first serve basis. Interested families are encouraged to make an appointment to visit our childcare home in order to learn more about our program. We are happy to answer all questions and provide references upon request.
Families who choose to enroll must sign complete our childcare agreement form and provide us with a deposit equal to one full month of tuition. This deposit will serve as the payment for the first month or service.
Hours of Operation
Our hours of operation are from 8:00-6:00pm Monday through Friday. Parents are welcomed and encouraged to establish a routine within those hours that works well for their particular family.
Our family care home will be closed on the following holidays:
Christmas (December 22-26)
New Year's Day (January 1)
Memorial Day (May 25)
Labor Day (September 7)
Five days of vacation time will be taken the second week of July (an annual family beach trip).
There will be no adjustments made to fees in the event that the child is absent for illness or vacations.
We do not categorize children’s choices as “good” or “bad” behaviors. All the children’s choices can provide an opportunity for learning. Choices which result in moments of conflict, anger, or frustration are no exception. Learning to recognize the consequences of choices and dealing with these consequences, whether pleasurable or unpleasant, should be treated as a normal part of the work of life and living with others.
As adult caregivers, we must set limits upon the children’s behavior to ensure their safety, the integrity of our home, and the comfort of others. We view the testing of these limits as a normal part of some children’s learning process and accept the responsibility for responding to testing in a positive, consistent fashion.
Based on this belief of how children learn and develop social skills, this family care home will proactice the following behavior management policy.
Speak positively to the children
Encourage children to enjoy their own feelings of satisfaction in their accomplishments, rather than seeking external praise
Reason with children as appropriate and set limits on behavior to promote physical and emotional safety for all
Model appropriate behavior for children
Modify our physical space to prevent problems before they occur
Listen to the children
Present alternatives to children for inappropriate behavior
Encourage children to recognize and respond to the natural consequences of their behavior
Treat children as people and respect their needs, desires, and feelings
Ignore minor misbehaviors and encourage children to resolve conflicts among themselves whenever possible
Remove children from situations in which they are unable to make safe and constructive choices. This may entail holding a child until he or she seems ready to engage in behavior that we deem safe and appropriate.
We do not use “time outs” as a disciplinary approach. Instead, when children are old enough, we encourage the children to choose for themselves when they feel ready to rejoin the group or a given activity.
Tuition will be $1250/month for full time care. We will try to support families seeking part time care in arranging to share full time spaces. Fees will be prorated accordingly.
There will be a $25 late fee per occurrence charged in the event that a child has not been picked up by 6:15pm.
If you need to make prior arrangements to pick up your child late, this will be considered on a case by case basis. The fee for extra time is $15/hour.
